Mission, Vision, Values

Mission

CRIS was founded to continue and build upon a 20-year history of providing a multilingual foreign language immersion education to Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. We aim to develop a community of intellectually curious thinkers with exemplary character, multicultural perspectives, and the linguistic abilities to become the global leaders of tomorrow.

Our People

Our people consist of experienced and diverse administrators and teachers who are passionate and caring. Our board consists of parents and community leaders who are committed to preserving one of the most innovative educational initiatives created in the Capital Region and in the State of Louisiana. We are close with our families and know our students well. Together, we are an entire community who care deeply about our school and our students’ success in life.

Our Process

Our multilingual curriculum is a fully immersive framework that begins as early as 6 weeks of age, that allows children to acquire languages through a challenging curriculum of core STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) subject areas delivered in up to four languages: Spanish, French, Chinese and English.

Our Vision

o To be recognized as Baton Rouge’s premier multilingual immersion education program for children 6 weeks through the 6th grade.

o To help students build a truly multilingual, multicultural identity and strong academic foundation that will seamlessly transition them from our school to the world beyond.

o To be a model of academic excellence in Louisiana where children develop a GLOBAL perspective through learning new languages and exploring diverse cultures, achieve high academic achievement in core STEM subject areas, and receive support from teachers, administrators, and parents to become passionate lifelong learners.

Our Values

Our values include providing a high-quality, multilingual education via a structured, well-rounded approach that fosters a passion for learning, a love of foreign languages, a celebration of diversity, and a strong sense of community.

Community. We recognize the talents of our students, teachers, parents and supporters and believe that we can accomplish more together than individually.

Respect. We promote a positive school environment by accepting individual differences and ideas while behaving in a positive, supportive, and caring manner.

Inclusion. We appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and we are willing to grow from the experience.

Strive for Excellence. We commit to doing our best work while continuously seeking to improve ourselves and our school.
